Judicial Review in against Wigan Council

Cllr Steve Jones was sacked by Wigan Council. I say sacked because it is clear in an audit-able trail that he said he intended to resign in Late February. The Council accepted this. The council also knew he suffered from depression and they got him in a  room on his own in a vulnerable state of mind and bullied him into saying that he would do it but also that he would put in on his Facebook page.

When people asked what was going on and thr truth came out residents and friends came out to support him and say he should resign at the end of Feb 2018. He agreed and said to the council they  that he would not be doing his resignation at the end of February 2018.

Labour and heir Chief Executive were furious and simply said o well we have taken it as you have resigned. Don't like it - take us to court !

Taking someone to the High Courts for a Judicial Review is not a simply or cheap process. Wigan Council know this so therefore saying by implication that only the rich can have justice or democracy in Wigan. This is wrong!

With that in mind and after getting a leading solicitors view on the case in which he said we had an extremely strong case Cllr Steve Jones has now submitted an application into the High Courts of London and asking for a Judicial review and ask the courts to decide if he or Wigan Council are correct.

With Wigan council also calling a by election Cllr Steve Jones as putting in an application of urgency to have the court hear his case ASAP. This will be up to the courts to decide both.

Finally one of the other things that Cllr Steve Jones has asked for is for the Bryn by-election to be halted until his case is heard. Again this will be up to the courts..

I am helping Cllr Steve Jones in this case as he does suffer from Depression and we don't want his condition to worsen so we are here to support him, just like many of you are too - which is great and much appreciated.

Keep watching here for the news on this case first.
