Northern Train Guard think people with Mental Health issues are Nut Jobs

I know this blog is in the main a local political blog but yesterday I was disgusted that whilst travelling on a Northern Train one of their guards described people with mental health issues as "Nut Jobs!"

On the 06:44 from Gathurst to Manchester Piccadilly we were held at Oxford Road station for a period. This is not uncommon. Whilst there the train guard a male with bald hair and glasses was talking to another member of Northern Rail staff, who was travelling on the train.

The guard was saying how one of his family members was doing a  Psychiatrists degree. The other member of Northern staff said, is there much work for that line of work?" The guard answered back, whilst laughing and smiling, " Yeah there is always "NUT JOBS" about!" DISGUSTING!!

As someone that suffers from depression and PTSD and currently being treated at the Priory, I am disgusted that this can be someone thoughts and thinking in this day and age.

I have written to Northern to put a formal complaint in and demand that they investigate the matter and wonder what is their recruitment process is if they are employing people that think this way and, believe that it is ok and acceptable to make these comments whilst on duty.

Whilst I fully accept that people of all walks of life may hold personal feelings and thoughts, we all know that when we are at work we are representing that business and therefore we have to act appropriately. Will Northern do anything about this? At the very least apologise.

Mind you this Northern Guard attitude is just like the trains they work...OUTDATED.

I hope you can share this blog post as the more people that we aware of this antiquated attitude will make Northern apologise to all those that have, or currently suffering, from any kind of mental illness.

Local Rag rubbish story again ...The truths.. The facts..

So yet again the Local Rag that I call the Wigan Liebour Post has been at it again. Here is the story that many have contacted me about today.

The whole story is crap report at best. I mean let's look at the headline for start.

Former Wigan Cllr calls for new arrest probe........NEW !!!!! NEW!!!!!! Why?? what has happened to my complaint that no one is telling me? There is no NEW probe being called for. Christ, if they can't get the headline correct or on message there is not much hope for the rest of the story, is there?

Whilst I have put a complaint in about the whole mess. That story here. and it has a number of different elements to it I have not put lots of complaints in. In fact, I think this is where the bias reporting comes from for the headline as they try to suggest I have put a complaint in and it has been thrown out and I am calling for a new one. Nope wrong! My first complaint was taken seriously from the very first moment I put it in and GMP are taking the appropriate action, I believe in the matter.

Back to the crap rag story, It says the charges where dropped. Charges - I was never charged. I have not demanded anything of GMP, nor do I have the power or influence to demand anything. The story says that there I said there was not enough evidence to arrest me. Wrong again, there is NO evidence. It says GMP has said the arrest was lawful. Interesting with that - with what I know we will ask the question, however until my complaint has concluded it may be a case they can't comment against that. Not sure but let's see.

My god they have something right in the story, I did spend nearly 24 hours in a cell. 23.5 hours to be exact. Yes, they did refuse me my medication and because of that I was taken seriously ill and an ambulance had to be called.

This bit is very interesting to me.

"The investigation was conducted professionally and a lawful arrest of a man was made, before a decision was made to take no further action after consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service

This is something I will also be asking GMP. Because they dropped the arrest and bail conditions and me from the inquiry purely on the basis that I issued High Court proceedings against GMP . Then a High Court Judge gave GMP 48 hours to put a response in. They dropped everything within 24 hours so they didn't have to answer the allegations and evidence I placed in the High Court.

The last paragraph contradicts itself it says that GMP will look at any complaint that comes in but then the story says because of a complicated technical process the issue is being investigated by GMP.  So which is it Mr Andrew Nowell, the reporter who did the story? Or they investigating or not? Tell your readers the facts, the truths. The whole story, not a biased one.

It was important for me to put out this blog post and put the record straight. After all, it was only the other week that they a story purely from the Council side about me being taken to court and did not report that I vehemently denied the allegation and will fight the Council on that matter, which I am more than confident that I will win - rather easily. Also, I am now going for costs in that matter too!

As I have said I don't hold the local rag in high regard for the reason set out and for that reasn I don't speak to them, unless I am officially complaining about their bias reporting so if you read anything in there about me come to this blog for the facts, the other side of the argument.

As I did over the many months that I had been arrested an released on bail I did not provide a running commentary, unlike Donna Hall, Emma Appleton and Deputy Labour Leader of Wigan Council Cllr Keith Cunliffe on my illegal arrest and treatment. I note they have all gone quiet now. The cat must have their tounges. Anything that keeps Emma Appleton quiet must be big the size of her gob. She even deleted all her tweet about me - she hadn't realised I had them all screenshot and they were used in the High Court proceedings.

I can confirm that I put a serious complaint into GMP that was taken into serious. I have then been provided with updates as to where it went. What happened next and where it has gone and where it is now. Once that has concluded I will tell all from my side - win lose or draw. But not till it has concluded and I don't know when that will be before you ask.

Thanks for the messages of support again and trust me the truth will all come out and then you will know everything.

What planet is the Mayor of Greater Manchester on

So I have read that the Labour Mayor of Greater Manchester wants Manchester to have an underground tube network.

Some may remember that year's ago that they looked at this. I believe it was first discussed in the 70's and it was decided it was too expensive and also with all the tunnels already there it was not feasible that too.

So it was decided nothing was an answer and doing nothing wasn't going to work they decided to have the MetroLink - trams. In fact, the tram system in Manchester is the largest in the UK. Also being looked at is tram-trains. These are trams that can work on the streets and also connect to the railway systems. This is far cheaper than new tracks. Good idea and one that many are used around the world.

So why on earth does anyone come up with the idea lets have an underground system for Manchester? Is the Mayor just like Trump and thinks like, "hang on I am not in the news and I have done the homeless thing to death and I have none nothing for that problem so people have stopped believing me on that and now I need to come up with another idea to try and justify my wages and office increase on the Council Tax? O I know let's have an underground that will get me back in the news? "

In fairness, the trams have been a great success and as I work in Manchester I know they are used extensively. They have built a train bridge that links Victoria train station to Piccadilly and that works well for trains coming from the airport to go over to Victoria and beyond so people do not have to change and go across Manchester to Victoria.

Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, says he wants to cut cars down in Manchester. I wonder how he gets to work?
