Well, the General Election is in full swing and one thing that I have observed is my god we are in trouble.
People, we are lead to believe, want TV debates to help us decide who to vote for. The ones I have seen since they first started to bring absolutely nothing to the table. The best TV can do I believe is interviews by people like Andrew Neil. Mond you some dodge that one. Borsi comes to mind after he saw all the other leaders have car crashes of interviews with him.
Whilst on Boris we have him and the Tories shouting 50,000 new nurses. But what he wants us all to believe is that 38% of them are nurses already but he just wants to retain them. But he wants us to believe retain is the same as new. He also says 20,000 new police. Great Mind you, he doesn't say anything says anything about the 21,000 got rid of due to austerity.
Jeremy Corbyn - gee where do I start? He wants to sit on the fence on a question that everyone wants to know. He wants us to believe he would get a great EU deal within 6 months and it would be so great he wouldn't tell us if we should vote for it or not. That is like Ford saying we have built a great new car but we are not saying you should buy it we are just going to let you decide. Seriously! Also after the awful events in Lond the other day he still believes that Terrorists should not serve a full jail sentence. Why not? If a Judge, who is outside of politics, deems to give a convicted person x number of years why should they not serve the full term? Mind you if people talk about this they don't want to discuss how low earners will pay more tax too inc single mums.
Lib Dems leader whatever her name is - o yeah Jo Swinson - is peddling the same message the Lib Dems have been saying for 20 yrs. Vote for us there is a third party? Really? You want to ignore the majority of people in the Country and say sod you lot.
Nigel Farage - has anyone seen him lately?
So there you have it that is the best the political parties have to offer us. Really. Is that it? If that is the best they can all offer us we are in serious trouble. The answer is not available to us. None of you lot go and do better. Just imagine in business the owners of the businesses had to interview people for vacancy and they were told they had to pick someone and didn't have a choice of sorry we will leave it and keep looking.
The solution is a complicated one and one that the political parties wouldn't want to try and address because they would lose giving us, at best, second-rated people for the top job.
