Donna Hall ordered to pay legal cost.

So after last weeks High Court rulings we can look the admin stuff and start looking at issues on costs. I always said right at the beginning in January if the Council went down the path of this illegal election then it would cost the tax payers of Wugan vast sums of money. What we have learnt today is very interesting.

Before I go onto what we have learnt we have to just cover a legal technical point that the council made in the first hearing that as soon as their barrister knew he had lost he then moved on to a technical point. He argued that the Court could not stop the election because it was being run by Donna Hall in her capacity of Returning Officer and we had only named Wigan Council on the summons. They argued that as Returning Officer she doesn't work for the Council.Therefore she could ignore the injunction, if that was ordered on them grounds. The judge said if that was Wigan Council's argument then it was up to them that they add Donna Hall on the summons as an interested party. That is why we went back the following week - we added her on to the summons personally as returning officer. We all know what happened there.

But at the end costs were award to Steve Legal team - another words the losers had to pay his fees. But when - and we got it today - the judge ordered costs he meant the Returning officer to pay Steve's legal bill. We all know that Cllr Peter Smith Labour Leader on Wigan council will tell her don't worry we will pay it for you but then it will bring him and the Council into disrepute again because they will be paying something that the tax payers shouldn't be paying for.As soon as that bill is paid and we have it confirmed an official complaint will be going into Wigan Council asking on what legal grounds have they got to use our money for her liability?

Donna Hall supporters will be saying leave Donna Hall alone. Did she leave Cllr Steve Jones alone when she was leaking false and libellous stories to the local paper? No! Did she leave Cllr Steve Jones when yet again she got her friends in the local cop shop to go and try and get him again? No! Did she leave him alone when he entered the Council chamber and he was kicked out  by her and the Police? No! Cllr Peter Smith says that he wants people to be held accountable - isn't that funny he only want that for opposition Cllrs but not for him, his lot and his Chief Executive who wastes millions on political games. She should be held accountable and that is what we will be doing now, in future including the local elections and after until she is held accountable and I will make no apology for it.

So it is official DONNA HALL is ORDERED to PAY THE BILL so PAY UP DONNA!!!!
