May’s Update

Well, May is over ( No not the PM I mean the Month, although Theresa May is also done) and done with, what a month.

So, we all know that at the beginning of the month we had the local elections. I have not said anything on social media about this, and this was for a reason. Cheating B@stards!

So, Wigan Council said the result was I lost by 93 votes. Wrong! I won by 7 votes. So what happened then?

The count was done and my ward’s count was taken off to head of legal services Brendan Whitworth- for some reason – he had it for an hour and people were around me where saying, “ look at his and Charnock Jones ( Council officer Christine Charnock Jones) face. They are like thunder”.
The ladies that did the counting where like why can’t we just go. In the discussions I said to the girls, “don’t give the number of votes but the bundles of 25 ( ballot papers are counted in bundles of 25) are they the same between me and Labour?” as mine was a little longer. One of the ladies counted them – as she was sick of waiting -and said yes, exactly the same. Then we can see the loose ballot papers of 13 for Labour and 20 for me. Therefore, I had won by 7 votes. Gee that was close.
After more waiting the girls said, “we all know you have won why will they just not announce it?” A cllr who was near said, “they are up to something Gareth”.

So, the process of the count is the returning officer calls candidates and agents over. She then meant to
1/ tell the candidates the “provisional” vote.
2/Then she has to “allow enough time” for the result to sink in.
3/Then, remind candidates they have a legal right to ask for a recount.
4/Then once all that process has been completed, she completes the declaration and
5/announces it.

With mine we were called to the stage and we were shown the actual declaration page. The stage 4 above and then said right I am announcing it. Wow, talk about fast track. She completely missed stages 1, 2 and 3 out.

So, do I simply accept it or do something about it? Once a declaration sheet is completed that is it. I could not request a recount, she had just cheated the residents of Shevington out of Democracy. The ONLY way to resolve the matter was to go to the Royal Courts in London and do an election petition. I started this the week after the election. Once I had a completed application in the courts have to consider it, which they did. I set out the reasons above plus the corrupt actions of Brendan Whitworth ( Wigan Council’s head legal guy – this is the one that tried to help the former Chief Executive Donna Hall illegally sack Cllr Jones the year before). A high court judge approved the application and then I was to put in security to the courts. The amount was ok.

However, when I looked at why some previous election petition had failed I need one more bit to be 100% sure. I was not cheated, although they think they did. The people of Shevington where.
Next year thinks will be recorded from start to finish and should they cheat again I will have more evidence than this year as it will be recorded. Some may say why am I saying this they will hide it? They can’t say I have not told them I am recoding everything next year.

So how did they cheat? I hear you say. Simple they moved 2 bundles off my numbers and then added them to Labour’s. That is why they refused me a recount! Even the girls that counted were like, “how can that be we have just counted them and you won?” I answered because they are cheating B@stards.

I don’t believe that the Labour candidate was in on it. It was the head of legal services (Brendan Witworth) and head of democratic services ( Christine Charnock Jones). Don’t worry I will win by more than 7 votes next year and it will be by hundreds more so it will be much harder for them to cheat.

It is interesting I mention Brendan Whitworth because why was he touching my ballot result? I have put a formal complaint into the Council and put them on notice. Because of his actions he is involved in the corruption against me I wrote about on Greater Manchester dirty coppers. Those 2 coppers are now being investigated by the IOPC, I believe. I cannot say much more than that for obvious legal reasons but when that investigation has concluded people will be shocked at the level of corruption. Once Greater Manchester Police have concluded that they have said they will then look at the civilians involved – yes you guessed it Brendan Whitworth and Donna Hall and see if they have broke the law, inc misuse of public office. Hopefully, that will be before next years local elections and he wouldn’t be there. When I have informed the Council of his involvement, they say thank you for your comments and refuse an outside independent investigation into his and Donna Hall’s actions. When Cllr Paul Maiden put a motion in to Full Council asking for this. Guess what? Brendan Whitworth used his position of head of legal services to block the motion being put to full council and allowing the Cllrs of all parties to vote on whether they should or should not order this! Brendan anything to hide? Why did you block the motion? Why will you, the new Chief Executive and Leader of the Council not allow an independent investigation into corruption at the Council? Surely if you and others have nothing to hide you would allow this and not block it? It matters not GMP will get to you soon enough old boy.

So where next? Well we will be announcing something very exciting shortly and I wouldn’t mention Brexit and EU elections where yet again the public showed they have not changed their minds from the 2016 referendum result.

Keep it here -keep it real and keep it clean. (O well Wigan Council don’t fit this, dirty gits that they are 😊 )
