Free Speech has disappeared in Wigan....

We all see and read stories in our media that North Korea and Russia silence the opposition in their countries and do not allow anyone to call them. We think we live in a free society in the UK but are our officials hypocrites ?

Yesterday (26/01/2018) at 10.40am Greater Manchester Police on the order of the Chief Executive of Wigan Council, Donna Hall, blow open his metal gate that protects his property. There was about a dozen police officers - I thought we were on cut backs with them. They were all tooled up in full combat gear like out of a hollywood film costing I hear over £10,000 to carry out this operation and then with battering rams forced entry into his house. Had they simply knocked he would have let them in but it is obvious that they wanted to do maximum damage.

He was arrested although was not read his rights and taken to Wigan Police station. There he was locked up for hours and then he was informed that Donna Hall, Chief Executive of Wigan Council had complained about him by posting a video that was freely online for all to see. This was from the estate agents that had sold her house. Also the fact that many residents complain about development in their neighbourhood - we have had a lot of that in Standish and Wigan council say tough. Well also he had shared her objection letters were she had complained about some development next to her house - welcome to what people of Standish have to put up with.

Also she complained that someone had parked a car outside her house watching her - Mr Peter Franzen - I believe he doesn't even have a car. Then she said her bins had been gone through and things photographed. Do we believe this? Absolutely not! And just to try and add a bit of spice she said her car tyres had been slashed on Wigan Council car park. This has CCTV all around it. So where is the CCTV that her car tyres were slashed? I doubt it even exists because it probably didn't happen. She is a notorious liar. Just look back when she claimed she was in a famous band until their manager had said he had not even heard of her. Also the Council have had to pay out ten's of thousands of pounds recently because she libelled ex Cllr Jim Ellis. She claimed she wasn't guilty. If that was true why did she not want to go to court and have a judge hear the trial?

So what is this all about? In recent weeks Donna Hall has had some criticism online about her. This ranges from her deal which gives hundreds of thousands of pounds to  Labour Cllr Charities and groups. There is even a path were some of this money ends up in her house by way the council give money to a group in Wigan where her boyfriend ( who lives with her)- Ex Labour Cllr Bretherton - is a director and then they buy services of him from his employer. No doubt any one who job is in sales will be given a bonus for hitting targets. So here we have a paper trail of this. That story is here.

The thing is it used to be arguments between Labour and opposition but then Wigan Council got  a bad reputation for it and then Labour Leader thought of a plan to use a woman - soft sod - to say to his Chief Executive Donna Hall do my dirty work for me then they fall out with you and that will make Labour look good and them bad. What a coward for using a woman in this way. The previous Chief Executive was a good Chief Executive and would not get involved in Labour's politics. She was a good strong leader who would stand strong against Labour Leader Bully Peter Smith. OK it cost her her job but she held firm and whilst I didn't always agree with her I fully respective her for being political neutral like all chief executives should be.

So free speech? Donna Hall has libelled may and done some dirty nasty things to people and when they have gone onto social media she doesn't like it. Well tough! If you are in a public office and put your head above the parapet and give it out you must have to learn to take it as well.

I do not believe for one minute that if the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service ) was handed the case they would take it on and therefore what on earth are the police doing running around doing her favours for her? They too should be neutral. No doubt this free speech that I am writing here will get her private police ( as she treats them that way) give no doubt get my door blown off by the cops but what is important whilst hatred and violence speech is not allowed then free speech is allowed in our society. after all that is what our grand parents fought for in the world wars.


For the record Mr Peter Franzen was not charged after all that and also Greater Manchester Police where given an opportunity to add a comment for this blog - no comment came back.
